I followed Alvy (PIXAR) Smith's lead on how caustics can add isual detail to shiney surfaces.
This is "PIXAR chrome" rendered in XARA with a surprising few number of objects,

Hey excellent chrome effects Gare, very nice.
Do you still remember how you managed to "shape" the reflection in that 1st chrome pic? ( ball and torus )
hmmmm....???
I stretched an image of palm trees that I'd painted using the Spherize command in Photoshop. Then I exagerrated it, greyscaled it (I would NOT want to add colors to the confusion!)and designed from the image in XARA.

Awesome piece of art Gary!!!
And that's Xara??? Mighty impressive and you've really (I mean 'really') excited me with this!!!!
I'm just starting to learn the program and I gain a lot inspiration by seeing what others do with it!!!
Just for curiosity Strata does Flash export. This little example took 1 minute to do and 3 to export.

I'm not sure what element was done out to Flash from Strata. Can you clarify, please?
Thanks, Wendy!

ya emel...? You forgot to ATTACH the file for us to see! hahhaa DOH!
Mark,
What do you mean? The file is there for download
or execution.
Gary,
The objects and the animation are done in Strata. They are animated trough the traditional process of assigning key frames and events. Finally we export as flash movie.
