Re: Version 23.7 Blocks
I have done a total of 3 sites using Blocks now, and the 'what the...' moments have all but gone.
Way back on page 3, Bill (@bwood) casually mentioned concentrating on the mobile variant, and correcting the main variant afterwards. I had a much better experience following that advice.
I found it easier to delete a Block and start again than to persist in trying to rectify a mistake. Remove the content from the Block, cast the Block into the void. Create a new Block. Drag the content back in.
I only noticed this when using coloured backgrounds. Often, a text area would become two lines instead of a single. Easily fixed, but left the 'frame' as double. Dragging the boundary line up sometimes messed with the background (don't know how or why at this point), and a small gap appears between the Block and the Block below. A simple move of the whole Block down, and back again fixed the placement.
You can't create a Block in a Layer. This never bothered me in the slightest, it's just an observation.
Moving multiple items, or an item placed in a Flexible Block using the ALT drop, is a serious flaw.
Snap to objects is sorely missed, as is marquee selecting.
I shall be making another site in the next few days. I shall:
Do the designing in the mobile variant.
Check the main variant regularly.
Delete Blocks rather than try to fix errors.
Be aware that it appears to be a random, higgledy-piggledy chance that the variants will mirror each other or not. The one I keep forgetting about is altering things in the Flexbar (padding and alignment) doesn't mirror.
Today's weird anomaly. Drag a simple rectangle (or anything for that matter) into a Flexible Block and Right Drag to duplicate. You now have 2 of the same object...but not in the variant. You can move those objects around and nothing will happen. But, if you colour, resize, add a shadow, transpareny etc. than the object will magically appear. Also, if you Right Drag in the variant, it won't creat another copy, it will BE the original copy. I have no idea how I stumbled on this.

That's very well done, Egg.
I especially like the guy, front and centre, rocking the plumber's cleavage.

Re: Version 23.7 Blocks
Cheers Chris but it's not my creation, just my humor. MidJourney created the artwork. Far beyond my capabilities. Comes to something when AI can produce a builders bum.
