I got one of those Wacom tablets for Father's Day... and this is my first scribble.
It was very tempting to adjust lines with the 'Curve Tool' but I was able to stop myself... but only barely... I hope you enjoy. P.S How do you make the surface less slippery? Risto risto@ristoklint.com Visit my web site!

I would be happy if I could "scribble" 1/4 that well. Nice work Risto.I got one of the small reconditioned tablets from Wacom about 2 months ago and really like it. As for slippery, I raised the top end of mine about 2 in. to match the angle I hold the pen and that seemed to be less slippery.

Looks fantastic!!! Your image looks so cheerful too, I love your artwork!!! I think Ross mentioned that you can tape a piece of paper to the tablet to make the pen grab hold better. Hope that is helpful!

and Maya's right about the piece of paper. The stuff that I use for printing works extreamly well for more control.
There there are times when I want it to be even more slippery, my hands sweat and so I use powder on them to make them really dry to I can get a good continuous line. Hope that helps ya Richard

... I appreciate your comments and suggestions! It is fun with a tablet.
The paper idea works pretty good. It tends to buckle a little bit after a while... but printer paper is cheap. Mike - I tried your idea too - but it feels very akward for me... it would take some time to get used too it. Thanks again! Risto -- What a marvellous image! You never cease to amaze and entertain me.
TIP: To make the surface less slippery, attach a large sheet of fly paper sticky side up. That ought to arrest your speed Gary Gary Priester Moderator Person www.gwpriester.com XaraXone |

... we don't have any flies in Canada... so we can't buy them here
The technique I used is essentially the beginning of your "staned glass" tutorial! Thanks, Gary. Risto risto@ristoklint.com Visit my web site!

Did you get the Graphire or Intuous tablet? I am considering getting a Wacom myself, and wondered if the 4 X 5 $100 (US) tablet is good enough for doing most things in Photoshop, Xara, etc. Dale Eye Site Web Design Why, I’m afraid I can’t explain myself, sir, because I’m not myself, you know... - Lewis Carroll |
