I don't like saving brushes to Xara's Brushes folder, but prefer to keep them as seperate .xar files (with the original creator shapes) in my own folder named MyBrushes.
This way Xara is not delayed on start up loading rarely used brushes, but I've always got the brushes at hand, plus the original creator shapes.

Good point about where to save brushes _ I'm going to have to sort mine out and have another place to store them.

As I said earlier, I prefer to save brushes this way as the file still holds the original shapes used to create the brush and it's then easy to modify that brush shape and create a variation, which I dont think is possible if you place them in the default brush folder.

You can edit brushes and the shapes used to make them even the default brushes.

In the line gallery right click on the brush style and choose copy brush shape to clipboard.

Paste into a document and you can change any way and create a new brush.
