    Default Moulding bitmaps

These are moulded bitmaps using blends.
Experiment still in it's early stages as the quality is still very poor:

I am having problems with this so I have attached the original file for you to play with.

A photo is placed as a Fill on a line with a bitmap sleeve (AKA a flat [Contour]).
The line is duplicated and the 2 lines are blended.

I originally did this as [Mould envelopes] do not work with bitmaps and the plugins are very limited.

Sorry about the description but you will understand when you examine the file.

As with other types of contour blends, this one has too many variables and added to that it is more unpredictable.

Yes I was hoping for this - I couldn't really understand what you have done looking at the xar, there's nothing to undo or pick apart I'm afraid.

You might want to look at Workbook 64

I covered some of these techniques in some detail. To be honest and give credit where credit is due, Availor was the one who came up with this technique.

Did you see an example on each layer?

The problem with this technique is that it produces a 'fish lens'. The method that I have shown distorts the image along 1 axis only.

To use this method properly; do not attempt it in X4, it will make a 'pig's ear' (ie. a mess) of it.

Ah now that you mention layers, I opened the layer gallery

But I must be having a dumb day - I still can't follow what you have done without any step-by-step instructions

Oh? That's bad.... Once I undertand your technique I will have to look at this more closely.

OK I have quickly made up an example.
As far as I am aware, you can not produce the 3rd image using the ellipse blend method.
The 3rd image uses blended lines rather than shapes.

I hope you can work it out from the file (which was foolishly made in X4 rather than X3). If not I will attempt to explain (I hate writing tutorials).

Ah I just noticed your reflection in the billiard ball. Very subtle, very nice Steve
