To make sure, I just downloaded "Xareg25.exe", however as feared it doesn't seem to permit any way of changing the grid colour (which by default is a dark blue).
If using the (rather terrifying) REGEDIT, how would I find out what the correct variable would be to edit in order to change the grid colour?
Anyone got a suggestions?

do not use regedit if you find it terrifying; no one should use regedit unless they first understand how it works and how to back things up
I checked for grid and drew a blank in the xara options; it is probably hardwired in...
