Mobile Variant not showing

I can't seem to find where to activate the Mobile variant on Designer. I must have closed it out somehow because it's not showing up at the top of the work window where it should be. I looked in the 'Websites Variants' option in Utilities but it doesn't show up there either. I don't see where I should add it back to the workspace.

SongWeaver it sounds like you've accidentally deleted the mobile variant. First try open an earlier back-up. File / Recent / Back-ups (at the bottom of the dropdown list).

If it's lost for good you'll need to recreate it. Go Website Variants / Website Variants / Create.

hi, I've got the opposite situation, my mobile version is showing on both pc and mobiles and my 'main' version, although fully visible in designer and exported as usual does not show [this only started recently] - could there be a script error somewhere? [Xara Designer Pro XIO 10.1.5.37495 DL x64]

gabriel, any time I have seen this, it has been the design file has been corrupted.
The only other action is to purge your browser cache - press Ctrl+F5. Do this first, you may be lucky.

If unsuccessful, check with some of your backups to see when and where it may have been corrupted.

Xara has made an application called ExpandXar.exe that unpacks the design file and that might work.

If you are totally stumped, ask Xara if it can recover your design fully.

the fault lies in the chrome browser, it will only display the mobile variant [in both narrow and wide], notwithstanding having cleared all cookies and history for last hour in >settings>privacy and security>clear browing data and having reloaded via filezilla ftp
displaying both mobile and main variant has been succesful in opera, edge & firefox - so the problem is not on xara's side....
any further ideas?

The other possibility is you have some Placeholder, Page or Website added code that is not properly terminated, causing the Variant and Main rendering to merge.

after clearing the Chrome cache on both pc and mobile and unticking 'desktop site' on my mobile's chrome and reloading with ftp, the Chrome on my pc also started to come right - all other browsers are ok, it was just in Chrome that I had the problem, and it seems that any settings on my mobile chrome somehow override settings on the pc. So the 'fault' never was with Xara but in the browser settings. tx for your assistance, it in some way led me to tinker and voila, all is ok :-) - problem solved
