...and if it snowed a lot you could apply a little outer contour and then slect inset path to give the snow a little more volume. depending on the font used you can also select all the anchor points of the "snow tops" and select Make curves with Smooth joins, making the snow rounder.

A fractal clouds fill can give a frosty dusting of snow.

This same idea works for more than text. Plum pudding with hard sauce.

The pudding is a great idea, but the bevel looks reversed - the sauce should stick out.

I fixed the bevel and added a more generous helping of hard sauce. Can't skimp on the hard sauce!
