I have tried here with one of my brushes composed of 17 objects.
They have all the same size.
Utilities/ Options/ Units/ Page units/ select Points.
Go to "Edit Brush/ Spacing" and select your spacing; a good example is 20% : if your original shape is 100 pts wide, go to "Utilities/ Options/ General/ Nudge size", and type 20% of 100 pts = 20 pts.
Otherwise, if your spacing is a very specific one (like 56,3%):
1°trace a straight line with "normal line" (its at the first place in the "select brush" window) giving it the width you will use for your brush,
2°apply your brush to this line,
3° go to "Arrange/ Convert line to shapes,
4°Ungroup,
5°select the first and the second objects,
6°go to "Arrange/ Combine shapes/ Substract shapes"; the width of the resulting object will be the number of points you must type for Nudge size.
Then the principle is:
7°create a bitmap copy of the contents of the quadrangle,
8°cut it (Ctrl+x),
9°open a new animation,
10°paste it in the first frame,
11°nudge one time the end point of the line,
repeat step 7° and paste it in a new frame, ...
Finally the numbers of frames and of shapes composing the brush must be the same.
Naturally, all question are welcome !!!

also for much mor simple things !!!
