2 entries in the drawer connect (Standard (no values set)) and (StratusURL(http://app.xaraonline.com_stratus/webservice/ws4_......)

Hmm WS4 is probably webtsyle 4? So no reg for pro?

Thanks anyway, I guess the fault does lie here, I am just missing a step i guess.

Yep it is, I also downloaded the zip for pro.
    Xtreme
has an entry called "username" in the connect drawer
in the regedit, PRO doesn`t have that entry, but I guess
that entry gets there when you have registered.

Aha! Cookies, why didn't I think of that. I'll tell you why - browser psychosis, characterised by delusions of persecution!!!

Accept cookies, don't accept cookies, accept cookies from this site, don't accept cookies from another site. Disable scripts, enable scripts, enable scripts here but not there. Enable this script only, but not on this site, although it's OK on the other one.... Good grief, it's enough to bring tears to glass eye!

However, thanks for the tip. You're quite right I did have cookies disabled.

I have already done that, but I tried here too, who knows, somebody
might know a solution, but I have to wait until the helpdesk have
figured it out at the Xara workplace, thanks for the help anyway.

And otherwise until the CD has dropped in my mailbox.

Whats your ticket number? im afraid i got confused with your replies.

As far as i can work out you encounter the error message connect attempt failed when attempting to unlock xtreme pro. This error would be caused if the connect registry key is missing from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\XaraXtremePro\Conn ect

If this is the case then extracting and merging the reg file from http://support.xara.com/index.php?_m...mid=14&nav=0,1 would cause the reg entry to be added.

Once complete you should try unlocking xtreme pro again. If this still fails then re-confirm the error message being returned.

Other common problems when unlocking are caused by security based applications preventing Xtreme Pro from accessing the internet.

After paying I downloaded the new Pro DL version, uninstalled the beta, and then installed the new version, which unlocked with no issues.

The only problem I had along the way was that I forgot my password for my Xara account, and the password "hint" is the gibberish default password that was set when I originally set up the account to buy Xtreme last year.

Took a lot of prodding in the ol' brain to come up with the correct password, but smooth sailing after that!
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

I made several unsuccessful attempts to unlock the latyest download.

Turning off the firewall solved that one.
"Intbel" ... "Can't" is not an option.

Compliance is futile. Resistance is futile. Just do your own thing an' ignore 'em.

Yep like you told an I placed what was in that folder.

Well, I watched was in there, and after I did the unzip thing and executed it
I saw no difference from what was already in there, do I have to have the
unzipped file in a certain folder before executing it maybe?

Once complete you should try unlocking xtreme pro again. If this still fails then re-confirm the error message being returned.
I still get the same message after I have done all that is described on
    the helppage of the pro.zip.

Other common problems when unlocking are caused by security based applications preventing Xtreme Pro from accessing the internet.
Well, I have used 'enditall', and so killed all background programs (even checked manually and killed some non essentials more) still the same problem.

Hmm maybe this is related, my webstyle 4 gives this message when I try to upgrade, could be a related problem?

    error 0x80004003

The most likely cause is some security based software preventing the Xara program from connecting to our server

Please check your firewall settings to ensure access is granted.

It has been known for cookie blocker software such as spyware doctor to cause this kind or problem and therefore please ensure any virus protection and adware prevention software is disabled when installing and adware prevention software is disabled when downloading templates as well as access being granted via your firewall settings.
