    Default Squiggle-Sketchey Brush

    Hi:

I have an image created in a paint program which I am "re-engineering" in Xara Pro.

The lines and edges of fills have a sketchey appearance.

Attached is my attempt to simulate this with a brush in Xara Pro.

Has anyone else developed a similar but more "natural" looking brush which imitates the squiggley appearance shown in the attachment?

Your brush is nice. Perhaps you could look very close to each object and add detail.

Now my choice for this kind of effect goes to Live Effects with the Jiggle feature of Eye Candy 3 (see below). It's very easy to manage. The only problem is that it's not a part of free Xara offered plugins.

    kindly,
    ivan

Just looks like a bad image John

You might try one of the natural media brushes as an outline.

    Ivan, Gary ... thanks.

I had forgotten all about the Eye Candy plugins. I usually apply them to fills so I neglected to look at applying them just to outlines and custom strokes.

    Regards, John

It's the proof that Live Effects aren't well known enough.

On the other hand I regret that Xara doesn't have its own pixel displacement tool and that the user is constrained to buy somewhat pricey add ons for a so important feature.

    kindly,
    ivan
