A really odd piece of dark abstract work.... but I found that quite real looking sparks can be made by overlaying "pressure-profiled" lines of increasing thicknesses and applying heavy feathering / transparency.

    Hi Graeme,

You can practically smell the ozone and hear the crackle of the sparks.

    Thanks Soquili and Paul!

Paul - you're right... I should have put it into the "thingie" challenge!

I thought up some signs to hang beside it

I think it should be. "Dog beware, don't P" (or you could have a shocking experience - becoming a nutcase so to say)

    Paul... LOL

The kind of "Dog" I was thinking that could safely hang around this thing is akin the creature in the film "Forbidden Planet" (remember Robbie the Robot!). "Monsters of the Id" they called them.

It was an invisible fearsome dog-like animal that created by the crew's own subconscious which lit up with sparks when it ventured into a force field around their craft. It would right at home in this image!

Visit http://sfstation.members.easyspace.com/fbcol14.jpg for a picture of one!

The effects in that film were fantastic even although it was filmed in 1956!

Risto... I think I've discovered my favourite colour

    Cheers!
