Reverse feather
Calling all Xtreme Xperts......
What is the best (quickest) way to make a reverse feather?
I can make one, a very crude one, of a rectangle, but it's very crude. You can see all the defects. There must be a simpler method. For a circle, my method wouldn't work.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You can also try a Blend. That's basically what a feather effect is.
Or a Contour.

Re: Reverse feather
Thanks Sledger and Gary. I appreciate your help here. I think we're on the right path, but not quite there yet....
The Blend works fine on a solid color for the interior color, but what I realy want to do is have the inner color transparent and I don't know how to do this.
It's probably very easy to do, but I don't know how.
Thanks for your patience.

Drop-shadow (glow) and clipview.
See 'ClipView' in the Help file ;)

Re: Reverse feather
Thanks Sledger. I've got it.....
This is the effect I was trying to create. Sort of like a black semi-frame.
Thanks again.

Re: Reverse feather
Good'o Rick ;)
Another effect you might be interested in is a circular 'vignette' using the transparency tool.
Clone the photo, left click 'black' on the color line, then choose the transparency tool>>Elliptical.
Reverse the transparency by clicking the centre point then adjusting the trans' slider, then click the arrow point and adjust the trans' slider again.
