Chinese Characters.

I have not written much Chinese since I studied Mandarin back in the seventies. This was my given name "Tyan Bwo Da."

My lack of skill in the realm of calligraphy, has, to a certain extent, been rescued by the power of Xtreme.

So what does it mean?

Neat characters tho...

I am glad I don't have an indian or chinese name. It would probably be something like... dork with the big belly or something like that.

Chinese characters have different meanings when they are attached to other characters.

This is just a name. Individually the meanings would approximate :-
Rice field, (hence the square.)
Father's elder brother.
To arrive.

I would love to see what a good calligrapher could do using Xara brushes.
I tried, but with indifferent results.

For what it's worth, I experimented with one of the characters, using the "Cigar 3" stroke shape, round ends and joins,
then applied "Rushed Brush" from the natural media brush set.
For the paper I made a fractal cloud fill, and applied the Crumple filter from the Alien Skin Xenofex 2 demo.
Then the Burnt Edges filter from the Alien Skin Xenofex 2 (full product).

It would have been even nicer if my original character had been better.

You have certainly captured the feel of an ink brush stroke and I like the texture of the paper. It provided a nice backdrop to the graphic.

Don't know about the Chinese Spondoolix, but the effect is neat.
