Removing Blemishes from Photos
HI there,
I wondered whether anyone could recommend how I could remove blemishes form photos? I have a sweet photo of my daughter at Halloween but it looks as though she needed her nose blown when the photo was taken... you can imagine what I mean. We'd like to send out the photos to friends and family, any advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Andy
PS
Sorry didn't realise image was so big. If there are any complaints or a limit to image sizes please let me know and I'll remove.

Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
Well, I suppose the quickest thing to try is to copy the image crop out her other nostril (the snot free one), leave a little room around it for feathering. Then flip it horizontally, rotate and position it over the offending bit on the original.

HI
I was using PSP7, but not getting too far forward. wasn't too sure how to tackle in Xara, but will give it a try shortly... That's brilliant!! Thanks for the info.

Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
Here is what I came up with. I'll attach the Xara file (reduced down a bit) so you can see the shapes and feathering, transparency, etc.
I cropped into just the face and then made a bitmap copy and deleted the large file. Otherwise the attachment was over a megabyte. But I think you will get the idea.

Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
I've always liked transparencies, so here's another way. You can hide layer two to see the two transparencies used--layer two was only used for output.
I am going to remove the attachment within the day. I didn't realize it would be so big either.
Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
These are brilliant. True Masters at work... I've got some homework to do.... Is there a way I can look at the files to see a "path" of the actions taken to edit the images?
Many thanks

Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
you could also "cut her out"and set her on a cloud, that would give a need effect.
Or as an elve on a a plant
Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
The phrase "cute as a button" springs to mind.
I think the snot is quite forgiveable in one of
such tender years.
Also, I agree with Ankhor's suggestion of putting
her on a less prosaic backgound, it would help
considerably.
Saludos,
Bob.

She's definitely a little charmer. Just did some basic retouching/enhancement with PhotoImpact.
Re: Removing Blemishes from Photos
All very impressive... anyone care to guide me through getting rid of te snot? We had hoped to get the photos printed for Xmas cards.... may try to get a nice snow scene or perhaps even Santa.....
Cheers
