Linear Gradients

I have applied linear gradients (LG) to boxes and shapes in the top-left.
Only LGs that are 0deg or 90deg keep the object as a SVG. Otherwise you convert it to an image.
Also those the as still SVG use a PNG in its <pattern>

The rest of my example, I have applied a SVG LG (top-right) to the shapes and they stay as SVG and there are no extra images created.
The one SPAN I have had to create a separate CSS LG.

In all my designs, I can pick any angle I want.

Please advise.
